Peter is a respected industry thought leader, a senior international business executive and entrepreneur with a unique wealth of experience. As a technology leader, executive advisor, and high- altitude mountaineer, he is passionate about advancing and improving society and people’s lives.

After his studies, Peter joined IBM in Basel. For 14 years, he has successfully performed in sales, marketing, and general management functions at IBM with growing responsibilities, at the end leading Central Europe & Russia, based in Vienna and finally the Smart Card Business as Global General Manger out of London. He also has 14 years of experience as a business-oriented CIO and as a member of executive boards in large multinational companies in the pharmaceutical (Novartis, Group CIO), telecommunications (Deutsche Telekom, Group CIO) and finance industries (UBS, Group CTO & Swiss Life, CITO). He also served as President & CEO of TM Forum, a global industry association driving digitalization across all industries. Among his numerous career accomplishments, Peter was named the CIO of the Year by CIO Magazine.
Peter also founded, successfully ran, and then sold itcps Management Consulting AG, a provider of business and technology consultancy services for all industries. He founded and owns bluepeaq Consulting LLC, providing consulting, mentoring and advisory services in the technology & digital transformation space. He also serves as Executive CIO Advisor at Deloitte and Executive Advisor at Zoom. Additionally, Peter is a seasoned non-executive director on various boards.
A Swiss national with a cosmopolitan mindset, Peter was raised in Winterthur and Paris. He holds a master’s degree in Computer Cartography and Business Informatics from the University of Zurich and has completed his post-graduate education with an EMBA from IBM/IMD and Executive Education at Harvard Business School and Stanford. After having conducted business globally in developed and emerging markets and lived in several different countries, Peter now lives south of Zurich with his wife Janice and has two adult sons. He is fluent in German, English, French and Hungarian, and conversational in Italian.
Privately Peter enjoys the outdoors as high-altitude mountaineer, skier and hiker and is interested in history, politics, and business.
